This Saturday, May 14, 2011 is the annual letter carrier's food drive in Brevard County and throughout Central Florida.
The Stamp Out Hunger program is a nationwide effort by the National Association of Letter Carriers to provide assistance to Americans struggling with hunger.
It's easy to participate! Just place a bag of non-perishable food items next to your mailbox and your letter carrier will pick them up. Suggested items include canned meats, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal, and rice. Please, no glass containers or expired items.
All donations will be delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida which distributes the food to local food pantries and charitable organizations.
