Today's Launch of Shuttle Endeavour Scrubbed
Update: Earliest Rescheduled Date May 8, 2011
Hours before lift-off as astronauts made their way to the launch pad, today's final launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour was scrubbed due to a problem with a heater on an auxiliary power unit (APU). The earliest the launch can be rescheduled is Monday at 2:33 pm.
Traffic was quite heavy today as spectators lined the roadways several rows deep. Schools in the Titusville and Merritt Island area dismissed early. If the launch is rescheduled for Monday, the designated schools will follow the same early dismissal plans.
The President and his family did visit Kennedy Space Center today and toured the facilities.
